Last spring we bought a new Sony Bravia LCD TV. While we’ve generally been happy with it, there have been a few hiccups. For example, the now solved problem with the screen blacking out when watching DVDs over HDMI. And now this…

Months ago I reported on a problem that I was having with our new Sony Bravia LCD TV… The screen was going black for a few seconds at seemingly random intervals when watching a DVD over HDMI.
We just got back from a long road trip during which we logged nearly 3000 miles. When we make such trips, we depend heavily on our portable car DVD player to entertain the kids. Unfortunately, on the way out of town, we discovered that certain DVDs wouldn’t play.
My son has been saving up for a Sony PSP handheld game system. He had his sites set on the new PSP Go (PXP-2000) but, upon closer inspection, this system is a total ripoff. Yes, it comes with a new, smaller form factor while retaining the same large screen (more or less), but there are some major drawbacks.
As I noted in an earlier post, we recently bought a new Sony Bravia LCD TV – the KDL-46W5100 to be exact. Unfortunately, in the time we’ve owned it, I’ve the screen has gone black a couple of times while watching a DVD. Worried that we might have a defective TV, I decided to investigate.
We recently bought a new 46″ Sony Bravia LCD TV. After narrowing down our options, we were faced with a choice between the now-discontinued KDL-46W5100 and the seemingly identical KDL-46W5150 for about $300 more. My first inclination was to go with the cheaper model… Was that the right choice?
When it rains it pours… A few weeks after having our 36 inch Sony CRT TV refuse to power on (we’ve since decided to replace it), we’re having discoloration issues with our 46 inch Sony LCD rear projection TV.
Just a quick followup to me earlier post about a Sony TV that won’t turn on… We’ve been swamped and unable to do any TV shopping, so we’ve been limping along with the hair dryer fix. Unfortunately, the problem is getting worse.
