Have you ever noticed that Microsoft — for some unknown reason — has set the default left/right margins in Word to 1.25 inches. Seriously? 1.25 inches? What a waste… Of both time spent changing it and paper when people don’t bother.

Have you ever received a .docx file and been unable to open it with Word 2004? My wife is still running Office 2004 on her MacBook, and she periodically gets files from people running Office 2008 or newer, which is when they transitioned to the Open XML file format.
Shortly after it was released, we bought Call of Duty: Black Ops for our Xbox 360. Unfortunately, we haven’t been able to find matches on Xbox Live. As it turns out, the problem was that our NAT was set to STRICT.
This is mostly just a note to myself for future reference… We’ve been having trouble finding Xbox Live matches in Call of Duty: Black Ops. As it turns out, our NAT was set to strict, and we ended up getting stuck on “Finding Match Quality.”

A couple of weeks ago, I noticed that the toolbars (standard, formatting, reviewing, etc.) were missing from the top of the window in Microsoft Word 2008 for the Mac. I was able to toggle them back on by going to the Toolbars list within the View menu, but that quickly got old. Frustrated, I decided to find a solution.
I’m not sure how or why, but my chat client (Adium) recently forgot my MSN Messenger password. Whenever I’d launch Adium, I’d get a window prompting me to enter my MSN Messenger password, but I couldn’t remember what it was.
