I spent much of last night trying to root the Nook Tablet that we bought our oldest son for Christmas. Being fairly computer savvy, and having experience jailbreaking numerous iDevices, I fully expected this to go smoothly. Boy, was I wrong.

While jailbreaking my iPhone this evening, I ran into a small snag. I’ve recently upgraded to iOS 4.3.3 and I was trying to apply the JailbreakMe.com jailbreak, but it didn’t work right. Cydia installed halfway and then disappeared.

While waiting for my son’s soccer practice to wind down, I got into a conversation with another dad about jailbreaking your iPhone. He was sitting along the sidelines messing around with his iPad and lamenting the high cost of the data plan.
