Today I went out and picked up a shiny new iPhone 4S to replace my still-pretty-shiny iPhone 4. I’ve been waiting to do so until after a jailbreak was available for this device. The release of the Absinthe A5 jailbreak, made that a reality.
It’s no secret that I love using MyWi to share the 3G connection on my jailbroken iPhone. I was thus disappointed to discover that my phone had stopped connecting to the internet after using MyWi — and the only way to fix it was to re-boot.
Tonight I decided to upgrade from iOS 4.3.3 to iOS 5.0.1 so I could take advantage of the new iOS 5 untethered jailbreak. What I really want is an untethered jailbreak for the iPhone 4S, but until that happens I’ll stick with my iPhone 4.
I’ve been waiting patiently for an untethered jailbreak for the iPhone 4S before I upgrade. As much as I want to chat with Siri, make use of iCloud, and shoot pics with that fancy 8MP camera, I can’t stand the thought of losing my jailbreak.
