If you’ve ever visited Disneyland with a smartphone, there’s a good chance that you’ve wondered how to charge your phone while in the park. With all the picture taking, Facebooking, etc. I burn through more 50%+ of my battery before lunch.
We’ve spent the past two days at Disneyland and Disney’s California Adventure and will be there again tomorrow. I actually left my charger in our hotel room on the first day (spent entirely within Disneyland). I thus didn’t spend much time looking for outlets, though I did notice that nearly every bathroom has a couple available.
But really, who wants to hang out in a bathroom waiting for their phone to charge?
Today, I remembered my charger, so I was definitely on the lookout for charging stations. While in California Adventure (where we spent most of our time) I found a couple of great ones.
For starters, there are numerous outlets on the hallway into MuppetVision 3D, and there’s a great outlet at the back of the main waiting area (just to your left as you enter the room). Another good one was near the couches on the right as your enter the waiting area to Turtle Talk with Crush.
Back over in Disneyland later in the day, I spotted a multi-outlet in the bushes near the benches across from the Big Thunder Mountain exit. I’m sure there are dozens of other options, these are just the few that I noticed in my casual looking.
If you’d rather not leave your charging fate up to the Disney gods, then check out this external battery pack. It’s crazy powerful (11,000 mAh), can recharge just about any USB device (including iPhone and Android devices), and has great reviews. I just ordered one myself, though I won’t have it until after our current trip.
