When it rains it pours… A few weeks after having our 36 inch Sony CRT TV refuse to power on (we’ve since decided to replace it), we’re having discoloration issues with our 46 inch Sony LCD rear projection TV.

Just a quick followup to me earlier post about a Sony TV that won’t turn on… We’ve been swamped and unable to do any TV shopping, so we’ve been limping along with the hair dryer fix. Unfortunately, the problem is getting worse.
Back in 2003 or so, we got a beast of a 36 inch Sony WEGA TV. This has been a great TV for us over the years, but yesterday morning when we went to turn it on, it wouldn’t power up. The power supply would click like it was trying to power up, but it just wouldn’t come on.
About two weeks ago, I ordered a new iPhone 3Gs form our local AT&T store. It arrived surprisingly quickly (within two business day) and I rushed over to pick it up. Once they activated it, I tested it out and everything seemed to be working well, so I headed home.
This past Saturday, our Xbox 360 started flaking out while we were playing FIFA ‘09. The video got a bit fuzzy, and we started getting lines across the screen. When we re-started the Xbox, the problems went away for a bit, but then came back. Not long thereafter, the kids reported to me that the Xbox was broken. When I went upstairs, I discovered that they were right.
