iPad Won’t Turn on or Wake Up?

If you’re reading this, there’s a pretty good chance that your iPad has become unresponsive. You can’t get it to turn on or wake up, and you’re starting to freak out. Fortunately, there’s an easy fix.

For starters, are you sure that it’s charged up? If not, it (obviously) won’t work. Seems obvious, but you wouldn’t be the first person to have this happen to them.

Assuming that your iPad is charged up, you probably just need to reset (reboot) it to get it working again. The process is actually exactly the same as for resetting your iPhone

Simply hold down the home and power buttons for 10-15 seconds. Your screen will go black (if it wasn’t already) and your iPad will re-boot. You’ll know it’s working when you see the silver Apple icon appear on the screen.

That’s it. If this doesn’t work, you may need to put your iPad in recovery mode and restore the system software. Hopefully you have a recent backup so you can easily restore your data.
