Yesterday I reported that I was having troubles upgrading my iPad 2 to the latest iOS version. I tried several times, but the progress bar would make it most of the way across before the process froze while “Restoring iPad software…”
I was thus stuck in recovery mode and unable to get my iPad working again. After work last night, I stopped by our local Apple reseller (not an official Apple store) and they were no help. Thus, I headed home intent on solving the problem myself.
In the end, I tried running the update on our iMac (instead of with my MacBook Pro) and it worked. I’m not sure what the difference was, but my iPad is back in action.
