How to Remove the Quick Bar from the Twitter iPhone App

If you’ve tried out the latest version of the official Twitter app for iPhone, there’s a pretty good chance that you hate the so-called “Quick Bar.” To be fair, they’ve made it slightly less intrusive since it was first introduced, but it’s still an unwelcome addition to many.

So how do you turn off the Quick Bar? Unfortunately, you can’t. At least not from within the Twitter app settings. But there is a way of removing the Quick Bar without abandoning the official Twitter app.

Here’s how to do it:

  1. Jailbreak your iPhone.
  2. Install “Twizzler” via Cydia.
  3. There is no step #3.
  4. That’s it. Now when you launch the app, it will include all of the new features minus the Quick Bar. This is just another example of why jailbreaking is awesome.
