Earlier this evening I spent some time cleaning up my Facebook account. As part of this process, I wanted to remove all of the old apps that I had authorized, but was no longer using. I was mostly doing this in the interest of privacy and security.
After a fair bit of digging around, I still couldn’t find the app settings, so I turned my attention to Google. I found a few articles, but they were badly outdated and I still couldn’t find the app settings.
Undaunted, I went back to Facebook, bound and determined to figure out how to delete apps. After a few more minutes of poking around, I found what I was looking for… To delete Facebook apps, do the following:
- Click the “Account” pulldown in the upper right
- Select “Privacy Settings” from the menu
- Click “Edit Your Settings” under “Apps and Websites” (bottom left)
- Click the “Edit Settings” button next to “Apps You Use”
You should now be looking at a list of apps that you’ve enabled. To change their settings, click the “Edit Settings” link alongside each app, or just click the little “x” on the right to delete it straightaway.
