I have also been getting this calls. Several of them I was able to stay on the line and act like I was interested enough to fine out which campany was calling. These companies have a highly sufiticated research group gathering information some how. Either through credit beuro along with many other ways. Some of these companies although legett are criminal in the way they gain your personal identity. Other are not leggett. I have received 23 calls at home, 15 calls on my cell phone, 5 calls at my work number. The fact that I don't give out multi number to any organization I deal with mean they are gaining this information from multi sources. My work number was just changed last month and I have not given it to anyone yet. The company that called today "Direct Protect" called me by a nick name I haven't used in over 8 years. I don't know what can be done about this but if allowed to continue, it will eventually become a standard marketing procedure for all companies.

Mine were usually on a 1-800#. I tend to screen my calls, so I send every unrecognized number to VM during the work day on my personal cellphone. 'Extended warranty' on my car is crap since my car's been out of warranty for 5+ years!

1-800-947-2167 is a number that I have recieved these calls on. I even tried to go though the process to see what info I could find out about who was doing this. They always hang up on me when I start asking questions.

I get them as well. I'd be more annoyed, and have considered tracking down the numbers myself and complaining about it to the phone company, but since my phone is usually on silent mode and I rarely answer it anyway I haven't gotten around to it. I just delete the voicemail when I notice it.
